• Claims Initiative of the Year – Japan

Insurance Asia Awards 2024

The Insurance Asia Awards, launched in 2016 by leading business media group, Charlton Media Group, recognise outstanding products, services, and initiatives among insurers, reinsurers, and brokers.

The Awards Received

1. "Domestic General Insurer of the Year – Japan"; Recognises insurance companies in Japan that have made innovative efforts to solve the challenges they are facing.
   

2. "Claims Initiative of the Year – Japan"; Awards projects that excel in terms of innovation, impact on the insurance industry, and dynamism in response to changes in society in the Japanese non-life insurance services sector..
   

3. Awarded work;

   Aioi R&D Lab - Oxford, a joint research institute of Aioi Nissay Dowa and Mind Foundry (an AI venture spun out of the University of Oxford), and Aioi Nissay Dowa have developed an AI-based fraud detection system for automobile repair expenses.

Future Developments

Moving forward, we aim to apply our award-winning AI fraud detection system not only to automobile insurance, but also to other insurance products and to fraud problems faced by other industries, such as public services.

In addition, we will further strengthen our collaborative relationships with external partners such as Mind Foundry and the University of Oxford, and contribute to solving social challenges, both in Japan and globally.
